@tilvids @elementary @thelinuxEXP used eOS 5 on my old laptop for a while, stopped bc of the flatpak-only environment introduced on 6. There's too many non-flatpak tools that I use on actual computers (vs a steam deck, for example) to cut out the apt functionality from the GUI.

@julove jokes aside tho, the idea of a hackable mp3 player-style device would be a really cool idea. #Pebble was going to make one called the "Pebble Core" that was going to have Alexa, health tracking, 4g, and a #developer SDK, but they got bought up by #fitbit and then shut down after their last #kickstarter. Something similar running stripped-down Linux would be awesome imao.#pebblecore

@natalie water damage from being in storage for a bit when I moved for uni. left eyepiece has a bunch of vertical lines and it kinda gives me a headache if I try to use it :(I miss vrc quite a bit lol

@natalie yeah, apparently it is fixable, but it's a very hard repair. there's a $130 eye tube assembly you can get from ifixit, but you need to basically tear down the whole HMD to install it. going to see if I can do it over the summer 😔

@Paradox when the switchover happened it was about 50/50 after a few months, I imagine it has declined significantly since then but old reddit likely still has a dedicated user base I personally wouldn't use the site without it 🤷♀️
