@kevinrns I grew up there and never knew about that law.I suspect there are a lot of laws on the books that are not enforced unless you "just need a reason". Those all need to be cleaned up if we are going to have equal justice. Selective enforcement enables all sorts of bad things.

@Voline a regional airport near me still allows leaded aviation fuel. Planes take off, accelerate over an elementary school, and then take their corporate execs to wherever they're going.

@mansr @Voline yes, thank you for the clarification. Clearly, my local airport couldn't make that kind of call. I'm not sure if the school in the flight path makes that disclosure. It's interesting that during the pandemic, traffic at that airport picked up considerably. Mostly private jets.

@TonyStark am I wrong to wonder how the current Supreme Court majority feels about the Dred Scott case? Aren't there parallels here?

@RD4Anarchy this reminds me of the book "Guns, Germs, and Steel" (and "1491"). The ease with which colonizers could decimate Native Americans was the advantage, not capitalism.

@BrentToderian reminds me of the "big rocks" concept for setting priorities.
