Man muss ja auch mal was Positives sehen.

@kaia What's the use case? I provisioned my NAS with SSDs. They are faster than the NAS network connection.

@kaia my current NAS has two 5.25" bays where I put a 6-bay 2.5" module into. I didn't find any cases with six or more 2.5" bays for a *reasonable* price.I'd love to refit my old NAS with SSDs but unless someone provides me with 3.5" SSDs I have to use 2.5 to 3.5 inch adapters.

@david_chisnall Natural language interfaces are akin to magic. It's all under the assumption that the intent is somehow, magically recognised. Funnily, there are cautionary tales re magic addressing exactly this aspect. Almost all stories involving wishes turn the phrasing against the one expressing their wishes (see djinns, fairies, etc.).

@BrodieOnLinux Avoiding memory safety in the kernel is a direct threat for black hats. It's logical that some are fighting against Rust for Linux.Yes, yes, I just decided to consider them evil actors.

@kaia My NAS has an M.2 slot with A key which is supposed to take a WiFi card. I got the Coral with A key for it. Unfortunately, I never made use of it. And now I decommissioned the NAS.

@tk @kaia I just checked. There are several such offers. I guess the resale value of this model is modest because of soldered RAM, probably only 8 GB(?).

@tk @kaia OTOH Ryzen 4650U rarely came with LPDDR … but Lenovo is strange in that regard. They often soldered the RAM in their Ultrabook lineup.

@foone Makes me think about a WebExtension replacing all occurrences of "Copilot" with "Clippy".Clippy certified laptops. Clippy key on keyboards. GitHub with Clippy+.

@foone Reminds me of something similar on the C128 where a specific instruction was only executed when written twice. Someone called the construct the "do it, please" instruction.

@GrapheneOS I'd really like to know what specific issues you have with GPLv3. Which restrictions would apply? What could not be done anymore? Why is this more of an issue than accessibility today? Please don't handwave that away.

@GrapheneOS Are there really any companies considering the use of GrapheneOS over direct access to AOSP? If it's companies handing out smartphones with GrapheneOS to employees, GPLv3's restrictions do not apply because that is not some kind of distribution requiring source code access or being able to reflash the hardware.

@ricci It's fascinating that you don't need to specify the operating system. Printers are one of those universally unsolved problems.
