@verretor @smartbrain To be blunt, a handful of companies can shutdown people from the internet. We’re a free-market country, the internet is not a public utility. Literally some 10 companies can choose to kick you offline. There are ways you can mitigate this, but not easily.

@verretor @smartbrain By this, do you mean there are regulations on the US economy? If so, I don’t literally mean free-market in every way, I mean that the US is not a command-economy and the Internet is not regulated the way other telecommunications means are.

@alex why not have a user who just forwards the messages to all members of the group? Webfingering the user will tell you all members. Sending to the group is the same as sending to all people who subscribe.

Due to several bugs on this instance I am suspending it.At first I thought it was just the search feature, but also federation is malfunctioning.I would be interested in moving back if/when that is ever resolved.
