@john When I studied urushi, paper, wickerwork, cloth, whatever could be coated with a mix of urushi, a paste used in making the paper doors (and maybe hanging wallpaper?), and sometimes bulked out with some kind of powder (rice flour would do). It might last longer than you'd like though. Urushi can and does last a very long time.

@john Very. When they repair broken plates and bowls, urushi is essentially the glue. The gold/silver powder is just used to make it look pretty. The bulk it out the same way with a starchy powder to repair deep chips etc.

@CrackedWindscreen @SecurityWriter Any company that forces me to use a tool that introduces mistakes to my daily work flows GREATLY overestimates how much time I'm going to spend correcting those mistakes.

@futurebird @ainmosni No, honestly as someone who has spent far too much time with these types, it's pretty much on the money. They honestly think they can just make anything, as long as they can create the right algorithm. So they see no value in people actually doing it, for realsies. They miss that at best they are just mimicking existing works (in whatever realm) and are actually creating nothing. But honestly, they just can't see it.

@futurebird Ive worked with enough IT dudes that will fo anything for a MS branded lanyard from the latest conference. One guy tried pushing Access as a reporting tool for a multi-site national company. Reports took hours to run, were barely maintainable, and failed often. Reporting Services was right there dude...Icing on the cake was when he blew away 1.5M of inventory because he didn't know what a database lock was. What a turnip. He's exactly the type who'd be all over copislop.
