I hate Roku but whoever designed their "Roku City/skyline" screensaver did a crazy good job. You can sit there for a long time and a spot a ton of references to different movies and TV shows. They're hidden everywhere

mentoring a Chinese kid over DeltaChat in a group chatroom because he says he can't reach "world masters" of this technology (BSD/Linux, networking, etc) over anything else because it's blockedit's like me way back doing the same over IRC. My aunt is an ancestry nut and did some difficult tracing due to name misspellings etc and now I know my oldest American roots on the paternal side was a farmer from Germany who joined the north in the civil war for Wisconsin and my maternal side was a farmer from Germany who was regarded as a pioneer and founded a city in Iowa
