       @ZachWeinersmith Judaism is too sensible to make for good mythology, I'm afraid. You could introduce her to the Kalevala, the Finnish mythology anthologized by Elias Lönnrot in the 19th Century. Very different vibe to most. If you squint hard enough, Abraham came from Ur of the Chaldeans, so you could lay claim to Sumerian myths including Gilgamesh, but the Inanna cycle is highly entertaining, if a bit too bawdy for a 10 year old.

       @GrapheneOS Instagram is largely written in Python and WhatsApp in Erlang, both relatively slow languages compared to C/C++/Rust/Zig/Go, and yet they manage to scale. At a previous company, we had a Python based server handling 4000 sustained requests/second with 9ms latency at the 99th percentile, so it's not just the language at fault.

       @brembs @pluralistic Udi Manber used to be Amazon's VP of Search. The guy literally wrote the book on search. Ergo, if Amazon's search is crap, doesn't have basic features like phrase search or negative search, it is a deliberate decision. And that's why your search for 4TB SSDs get cluttered with 256GB ones. And also one of the many reasons why you should buy them from B&H instead, but I digress.
