@drq well mastodon != fediverse. Go for some instance with a different software, or at least a different client app. They usually provide more features. Buzz words maybe misskey, pleoroma, pixelfed, ...

After the military museum we made a little stopover at an old train station. It was part of what was known as the children's train. They collected companies' old equipment and refurbished it. All vital jobs where operated by children and (I guess) monitored by grownups. The wagons are painted with a text "Юність", meaning "The Youth". Closed because of Covid, they like to open it up again. Maybe "something" is holding them up ...#feditrip2ukraine

Fedi, ich brauch mal eure Hilfe. Ich bin kein guter Grafiker. So gaar nicht. Ich hab Ideen, kann sie aber nicht selbst umsetzen, man kann ja nicht alles können.Ein Freund von mir, hat úber viele Jahre ein analoges Café betrieben. Musk kommt von Schallplatten, die Einrichtung war Orange/1970er Jahre. Die Snacks uns Getränke fast ausschließlich Bio und von kleineren Läden. Er hat das Geschäft nun 1 Jahr bereits geschlossen, weil er sich auf die Unterstützung seiner Frau konzentriert. 1/2

Dessault Systems, ein Softwareunternehmen, das hauptsächlich für seine Software #SolidWorks (SW), ein 3D CAD System, bekannt ist, zwingt Kunden in "die Cloud". SW kostet ein Unternehmen bei Anschaffung ca. 15k€, pro Lizenz und pro weiteres Jahr dann weitere ca. 2k€ jährlich. In unserem Unternehmen werden über 10 Lizenzen eingesetzt. Seit den letzten drei Lizenzen werden kostenlos "Lizenzen" für die 3D Experience mitgeliefert. Leider ist diese mit SW erst .. 1/3

"in einigen Jahren" nutzbar. Trotzdem drängt Dessault Systems seine Reseller, möglichst viele Kunden sich "schon mal" in der Cloud zu registrieren. Andernfalls, könne man dem Reseller und damit dem Endkunden nicht mehr die "günstigen" Preise anbieten wie bisher. "Die Cloud" von Dessault bietet uns also keinen Mehrwert, aber wir sollen uns schon mal anmelden, sonst wird es künftig teurer. Das ist eigentlich Erpressung, über die kaum jemand spricht. 2/3

Fun Fact: dieses überteuerte Software, kann allerdings ein Standard nicht. Sie schaffen es seit Jahren nicht, sogenannte Profilschienen (auch mal Boschprofile genannt) zusammenzusetzen. Ständige Antwort: "Ja, das wollen wir auch ..".Dessault nutzt leider seine Stellung aus. Kennt jemand ein 3D CAD System für Linux? Es geht nicht im kostenlos, wohl aber um Open. 3/3
