@stux I stopped liking Musk when he called that Brit guy in Thailand a pedo with no proof. Everyone thought his idea was dumb, so he acted like a petulant 12 yr old. I like him less and less by the day, would never buy or recommend one of his cars to anyone ever again.

@clive I often drive my EV with gloves on to cut down on heating, give me more range. My Bolt has buttons for almost everything but the seat heater, so I have to take off a glove to make it work:( The steering wheel heater has a button tho:) I like a nice mix of controls, with true buttons and beefy dials, and the Bolt has all this almost right. Mostly I like the UI, and the CarPlay integration is excellent.

@clive I’d say I gain around 10-15% back. I feel like I lose around 20-30% of my ideal temp range in the winter with heat on, so every bit helps. I think the Bolt is the last EV still using resistance heating instead of a heat pump, and all other GM cars now use them, so future drivers won’t be as concerned. I don’t have charging at home, so I have to be a bit more creative in the way I delegate my electrons:)

@clive I vote for no car! My favorite living arrangement was when I lived next to the Eastern Market metro stop in DC and didn’t need a car. If you weren’t on a metro stop, I didn’t visit your establishment (screw you, Georgetown). If you absolutely must have one and only one car, look at a plug-in hybrid with over 40 miles of EV range. That’ll handle 95% of most ppl’s driving and you can take trips without dealing with our disastrous fast charging networks.

@clive Brooklyn complicates things for any kind of driver, lol. My favorite e-bike is the Brompton, which is perfect for the city, but not cheap. It’s extremely light for an e-bike at 32lb, and the Brompton fold takes less than 30 seconds. Here’s me putting my non-electric in the back of my Bolt. https://youtu.be/V5g3qmcxAUE
