I find it kind of funny and more than kind of sad how many self identified "non creatives/non artists" simply refuse to hear this no matter how many artists/creatives tell them the same thing over and over again.Friends, we've been at this a long time. We DO know the struggle. Very, very well.Look, if you convince yourself that you can't do art, you are probably right. It's great that you exited Spotify. That's a genuine win and a good thing all around. But that quest for the "good" streaming service it put you on? That's a fool's errand. There are NO good streamers; streaming is simply not an equitable or sustainable model for music under capitalism. Sorry.They're ALL venture capital backed corporations. That means they're all on the same path: extracting maximum value from music at minimal cost and maximum profit to themselves.

Spotify is currently winning by being the worst. When they're gone, the next company in line will become the worst.You might as well look for a good billionaire (and to be fair, I suspect some of you are STILL ON that particular quixotic quest). No such thing exists. No good billionaires. No good streaming corporations. For the same reasons: the things that you must do to become one preclude "goodness."

Periodic reminder that it is never too late to de-AI your work! A lot of us messed around with the toxic sludge before we realized how toxic it truly was, and there's more than a few album covers, PFPs, logos, etc that bear the foul stamp of GenAI floating around. Re-do that shit. It's worth it.
