@daviwil I don't have an answer as to the motivation, but I don't really understand the negativity, is there something bad about creating more fonts?I think it's cool that we're not just setting on DejaVu and that there is some funding for more fonts to be created. At the end of the day they're FOSS fonts so they don't hurt anyone.

So I'm really #confused as to what the right way to #recompile #emacs is.Periodically I'll do a git pull in my local copy of the git repo's emacs-29 branch. But most of the time, running make just ends up with an error about an Org version mismatch that forces me to run make bootstrap instead...Could someone help shed some light on this?

Well it happened. My #mechanical #keyboard died. It's with regret that I decided to call it quits and just get a Logitech K380 instead. I'm liking it so far even though it can't match the feel of mechanical switches.#mechanicalkeyboard #logitech

@louis not sure, the education system I'm familiar with just copes with shoestring budgets and uses what they're given. They basically use donated money to equip themselves with computers for the children.I posit that this is entrapment through convenience, and extreme consumerism.

@rms I also noticed that #AI companies like #OpenAI are very careful not to refer to their products as AI either. The product page for #ChatGPT for example only refers to it as a 'Model'. I wish journalists would learn to be more cautious in what they write about those tools.

@ActionRetro funny I did basically that with a 10 yr macbook air a couple days ago. Runs great.I really like your new angle on Linux and BSD os install as a new life for those old macs BTW.

@ActionRetro this looks amazing. I have seen a number of videos presenting retro setups like this, but what I find I miss is a dive into daily usage and how people used those for programming etc back in the day, including floppy swapping etc.I really enjoyed the #8bitguy series where he shared how he programmed his games for that aspect.
