After almost 2 years of daily driving #librem5 as my main phone I gave up.Initially the battery lasted for a very short time (like few hours). But I could live with that. Recently this was greatly improved (it could last whole day), but still I kept it connected to a cable out of habit. For a very long time I didn't try to use the sdcard slot, because I had no need for it. But when I finally tried, it turned out it doesn't work (purism forums has a bunch of topics on that, it's not an uncommon issue). But I could live with that. The GPS receiver also does not work (see https://forums.puri.sm/t/librem-5-gps-location-tracking/14153/285). But I could live with that. The tiny metal swing thingy you press with a needle to push out the sdcard and sim card tray broke off. But I could live with that.Hard to tell exactly when, but my phone started to behave weirdly with cellular connection. I didn't receive SMS and calls. And there was no indication on the phone that something is wrong. And I could not live with that.1/*

I got myself a #fairphone 4 and flashed it with #lineageos with #microg (https://lineage.microg.org/). I have quite a lot of experience with using this combo, because I usually took phones that were too_old/broken/not_good_enough from my wife and using them as a secondary devices. I had to use unofficial compilations where not everything worked. Now I had a pleasure of using a fully working image for fully supported device. And it works fast, has plenty of internal storage and currently phone claims battery can last for almost 1,5 days (real measurement pending).2/*

Back to #librem5: I used before other Linux phones. First Nokia N900, then Jolla. They had their ups and downs. Both had user interfaces and apps written for them and almost never used again anywhere else. But at least the basic functionality of them being a phone was working properly.Purism tries to make their software more openly and in cooperation with GNOME project and they deserve applause for that. Librem 5 is fine as a mobile computer. But it's a bad phone.3/3

@NGIZero Can you explain a bit more the question "Describe the ecosystem of the project"? What are the "actors" here?If I want to deploy something on a p2p network, am I an actor? The network I deploy on is an actor? If the network is still in development and I'm going to engage with its developers, are they actors? What does "promote the outcomes" in this context mean?

@xChaos I voted emacs, but I also use mcedit.Emacs is more like an IDE, where I can have a project with multiple files, code completion and stuff like that.I use mcedit when I need to quickly edit a single file.

@linuxtldr In the chapter "2. Rootless Containers" using "sudo docker [...]" is not required, because docker runs as root. It's because the "docker" command needs to connect to the /run/docker.sock unix-domain socket. Its permissions are "660 root:docker". You can run "docker" without sudo, by adding your user to the "docker" group.

@notjustbikes While Poland is way behind in having cities done right, we're slowly getting there. In Warsaw a lot of new bike lanes are being built and cars are pushed away from city centre.Recently the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology published a 304 pages document "A city for people": https://www.gov.pl/web/rozwoj-technologia/miasto-dla-ludzi . The first image, on page 18, says: Ask a question differently. (bottom part) XX century. How many cars can go through the street? (top part) XXI century. How many people can go through the street?

@finlaydag33k I'm on openSUSE Tumbleweed, so "Whenever a new version gets released" and "Whenever my distro does it for me" is almost the same.

@weirdmedia I like KDE. If you don't like the default task bar, you can customize it. Move it, change size, add or remove widgets, delete it entirely, do whatever you like. https://kde.org/plasma-desktop/

@jsalvador @tom_andraszek Only the first hour is 1zł. Then the price slightly rises: https://veturilo.waw.pl/en/price-list/If you need you can get to a station leave a bike and immediately take a next one.Beware of "Area of return". It's a region where you can leave a bike, but they charge you 15zł. Always look for stations. And for something completely different: Public transport is also great https://www.wtp.waw.pl/en/Find connections at https://jakdojade.pl/warszawa

@racuna I have gammastep (maintained fork of redshift) and I wouldn't call it hogging resources. It uses slightly more residual memory, than a bash interpreter running a script (6176 bytes vs 5400). CPU usage is negligible. Given that bash runs things by spawning subprocesses, it even might be that it takes more resources.Regardless of the above, your script may be a fine alternative with valid use cases, so congrats for that! :neocat_thumbsup:
