The biggest problem of #selfhosted services and #homelab is a bus factor. What if my existence will be interrupted unexpectedly? When my #Nextcloud will crash someday after that, my family will not be able to get their files and photos anymore...I'm thinking about an external drive with all Nextcloud data periodically copied there. To be able to disconnect it by hand from the dead server and connect to any PC. But which file system should it have? FAT32 can be read on any system but has a single file size limit. NTFS is not supported on Macs, EXT4 is not supported on both, Macs and Windows... I mean, not supported out of the box...Any ideas or solutions?

Tried the @Vivaldi browser. A good example of when "the more the better" doesn't work. Sure it is an IMHO.Still very interesting. I managed to fix all critical issues with my #selfhosted #Matrix server.I also have my #Telegram and #WhatsApp messages bridged to Matrix, and that's so awesome to have all of that in a single app. I'm using Element X on iOS and Element on desktop. I was thrilled by the success, so I also installed Element Web, but I'm not sure I need it.@element #selfhost #selfhosting #Synapse #ElementX #Element #fediverse #homelab

@qugalet @element не актуальна, тому що тепер одразу після логіну у ТГ портали створюються тільки для недавніх групових чатів та каналів. Усі інші портали створюються як тільки там зʼявляється нове повідомлення. Портал у приватний чат можна створити самому, запросивши «привида» до чату: https://docs.mau.fi/bridges/python/telegram/creating-and-managing-chats.htmlМені складно сказати, скільки у мене там чатів та контактів, але багато.

Lack of fine documentation and constant requests to a user to migrate, fix, review, or reconfigure something didn't add any comfort in using it, while "Easy to use and privacy-friendly Google Analytics alternative" became more and more popular Google Search request.Umami was the first thing I tried. My at-home part of the #HomeLab now fits on one “rack” shelf, and I finally have a nice place for the growing #vinyl collection. It is moved from a box in a dark corner to a noticeable place =)
