Interesting dinner conversation tonight: what happened to jingles in America? In other parts of the world jingles are still huge. All ours seem left over from the 60s, and it's not like there's been a decline in advertisements or big brands! And it's not like they don't work!

@aphyr Growing up my family hosted some French kids for a kind of foreign exchange thing, and a favorite memory from that time was their absolute horror and disgust over the taste of root beer. They insisted it tastes like medicine, not toothpaste, but they universally hated it.

@simon ElevenLabs reeeeeally benefits from how nervous all the big companies are to release actually good open models for TTS. It's frustrating to me that the technology exists for years in labs (VALL-E etc) but nobody wants to open source it.
