       @foone i would just like to point out that strawberry perl ships with a working msys compiler and between that and git for windows coming with native bash, you can try to build things terribly/build terrible things

       Yes this is straight up USPol related. Spigot for funds is off, jobs are being removed.She was looking at federal seasonal jobs, national forest / parks jobs. The labs she was talking to at school also no longer have any slots (although previously .. as in before Christmas .. every grad student in a lab at her school assured her they had something she could do).She is a 3rd year undergrad in botany / environmental science, with just her capstone to finish next year.

       She clarifies that she does not have federal job experience, and that these were her first attempts to work for the parks. Yes, she is in regular contact with her grad advisors for both degrees (environmental/forestry and botany)(edit) she also says she has gotten some referrals to some fire monitoring jobs (observing plant growth after a burn) so that's nice, and also something she's into.
