It seems to be weirdly difficult to find out if a dense cloud of mold spores would be flammable. (A dense cloud of Lycopodium moss spores is definitely flammable, but the structure and composition of fungal spores is much different. Mostly carbohydrate, presumably chitin. Then again, wheat flour is mostly carbohydrate and a cloud of that dispersed in air is definitely flammable).I don’t really want to set up some massive experiment to grow mold and try to harvest a large quantity of spores just to see if I can throw it into the air and make it explode.

@duskcomics I understand and empathize with the sentiment, but I’ve found the “industrious little lizard-people with dragon-envy” concept fun to work with.

Just updated my bio, which I will now proceed to shamelessly copy into this post:I am an Internationally Known[1], Award-Winning[2] fantasy-author[3], TTRPG-enjoyer, Creative Commons enthusiast, and general nerd. I'm friendly and play well with others.Currently self-indulgently authoring and shamelessly presenting in public:Empirical Gnollage - https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/76288/empirical-gnollageMighty Shangrook's Troubleslayers - https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/79738/mighty-shangrooks-troubleslayersPlease read and enjoy. I insist.[1] Among my nearly dozens of readers, I have at least one reader in the United States and at least one in Germany. That's international by definition.[2] "Perfect Attendance", 2015 (yes, really)[3] In fact, I'm probably fantasizing about being an author right now!

I just saw “Wizard of Oz” on a big screen for the first time in a very, very long time. It was actually pretty nifty, and impressive for when it was made. But… is it just me, or does it have a horribly pernicious moral, and a horribly tragic ending?I mean, the moral seems to basically be “happiness is settling for rural Kansas.” And, having given up a magical technicolor wonderland with cool friends and ownership of shoes possessing some crazy magical potency (I think it’s pretty clear that “send the wearer to rural Kansas” is not the ability the Wicked Witch of the West was after) and presumably therefore the ability to do really great and noble things for people, Dorothy ends up trapped back in the drab sepia-tone wasteland of rural Kansas, and Toto is no doubt going to be snatched by the rich dog-hating lady again to be killed. Unless of course the tornado killed her, perhaps.Haven’t seen such a profoundly sad ending since the “Lord of the Rings” books….

Anybody else out there find themselves churning out TTRPG-inspired prose? I’m finding it’s an enjoyable way to experiment with how particular game-mechanics can look from a narrative/story perspective, and logical conclusions from events in-game that might be overlooked in typical play.I’ve been enjoying the simulated “sandbox” campaign/fantasy-adventure story that I’ve been posting,

@futurebird I'm disappointed to realize that you are referring to someone (on the internet) being wrong about ants, not someone being wrong about (ants on the internet). I was so hoping for digital ants, perhaps burrowed into a webserver, quietly crawling over TCP/IP to cut buts of other websites' text out to bring back to their colony to feed their digital larvae.
