@moffintosh AI generated content checked and ranked by an AI reading model. Bots writing contents trying to outsmart other bots to increase position ranking of websites that are optimized for search engines and social media algorithms (i.e. other bots) more than they are for people. How charming is that.

@slashdot one feature I am sure I will be disabling as soon as it's deployed. There's no way I am going to share any kind of document with a third party.

@moffintosh wearing a cape is pretty common in Italy for every attorney in general as far as I know, and also in many other countries. The text may be misleading as it seems targeted to women (which is still wrong IMHO). But if all attorneys should comply to the same rule, why would it be a problem?

Starting March 20, the birdsite is disabling text #2FA unless you are a blue subscriber. Given the amount of #databreaches they suffered over the years, I wonder what could possibly go wrong. This is going to be a massive blow for #creator profiles and they likely will be unable to recover them as Twitter never provided a good #customer #support.

@ken @ProPublica sounds more like a feature rather than a bug. Being able to delete a tweet and leave no trace. No tweet? That's untold.

@ken @ProPublica we already have a massive proliferation and duplication of data. Some third pary apps probably wouldn't even care. If they take data realtime via API they don't even have to care.

So... [big well known vendor in the top-right Gartner's quadrant] is working on a sales proposal for their firewalls. Street price: 170K.But for this SMB company, going throughout a [big telco partner] the sales proposal is 20K.So to whoever spent anything between 21K and 170K for that firewall: you were robbed.

A forgotten #database. This is exactly the kind of stuff we're observing in nowadays #IT unmanaged #DevOps and #development activities.Thousands of #Cloud services, #S3 buckets, computing instances, #containers are being deployed daily to speed up deployment and development of new (old) solutions, not assessed, not tracked, not recorded anywhere.https://www.rightschain.net/en/newsroom/news/2023-02-21-a-forgotten-database-led-to-2-1-million-people-dna-breached-data-gizmodo.php via @RightsChain

Fun story about a #bank account, or rather opening one. A colleague configured the access via #app. When setting the #password the application returned an error.Password too long.Seriously? Password too long? Are you storing it in clear text?

@moffintosh this is one of those posts when you expect a "expectation vs reality" meme 😂

@moffintosh so the news here is, the undercover agent had pink hair? I read this article last week and it still seems they point out the fact the agent had pink hair It was not about the skills, the ability, the success of the operation. It was about the pink hair.Having pink hair is bad.I should ask most of the people I work with whether they are undercover cops. Since I am one of the two with "normal hair" at @RightsChain 😑

@moffintosh @RightsChain I've been reading various articles on this topic and almost all of them emphasised the story about pink hair...

How unexpected: #meta dismissed the charges on the #copyright infringement on the #AI training for their #LLaMA model. The terms and conditions for these platforms already allowed the company to use user generated content for anything they want with little or no consequences. Now it is #FairUse to train those models using other copyrighted material. The European AI-act might provide a solid tool to determine the data source for such data lakes, therefore providing some more support for creators and artists in generative AI systems...https://www.rightschain.net/en/newsroom/news/2023-09-20-meta-refutes-claims-of-copyright-infringement-in-ai-training-cointelegraph.php via @RightsChain
