@georgetakei The liberal (not the ridiculously named neoliberal) should float an amendent to lower the voting age to 16.Or perhaps the actual age of muturity of Trump, 8 year olds ;)

@GhostOnTheHalfShell @georgetakei Well, lets look at the facts, the folk that some people vote for why not give the vote to babies?Gaa Gaa for a Republican & Goo Gaa for a Democratic (noting that Goo + Gaa takes a little more cognitive processing)I am only half joking as I've met some relatively intelligent babies that I think would do a better job then Trump.

@nach @GhostOnTheHalfShell @georgetakei There is a certain satisfaction in blocking explicit racists. Rather than giving them the attention they so desire.

Evidently, you do "care" about something or you would not have replied. So, do you care about children? Or perhaps your mother or father? Or God?

The #science of what action has to happen to solve #ClimateChange Quickly reducing anthropogenic Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GGE)Urgently:1. End the burning of carbon based fuels (wood, coal, gas, crude oil derivatives such as kerosene, diesel & petrol) as burning carbon emits harmful (AKA toxic) air pollution.2. A global ecological restoration project (#rewilding ) will sequester historic, present & future GGE & massively reduce the methane emissions caused by grazing farm animals.

@glasspusher @TidalFlats @12thRITS The graph could be a mandatory label placed on all fridges - next to the energy efficiency label. An eating efficiency label :)

@AlliFlowers I'm sure it's not just me, but behind all these harmful products, guns, fossil fuels, meat, etc, are the industries spreading disinformation. It's the fucking industries that are making a profit out of products that harm people (& or the planet)

If we had the political & public will, we could easily end the meat industries in rich industrialised countries! Ending the #meat & dairy industries would end the ecological degradation caused by grazing farm animals. Ending the meat industry would massively reduce methane & carbon dioxide emissions (plus improve water quality)There are multitudes of similarly priced plant & fungi based alternatives to meat & leather. The only thing preventing us from dealing with #ClimateChange is #politics

@teknomunk @ceo_of_monoeye_dating "But you didn't even mention that"Well, I can't mention everything with a 500-character limit. The point I'm focusing on for now is advising the end of meat consumption in rich industrialized countries - where the more energy-efficient plant and fungi-based foods are already available (& equivalently priced) The food chain. It's more energy (inc. resource. e.g., water, fuel) efficient to eat the plants (& fungi) than to eat the animals that eat the plants

@teknomunk @ceo_of_monoeye_dating Well anyone can say on the internet that they're a "self-proclaimed" anything. But, in the grown-up world, there are people that study subjects such as environmental science, engineering, etc.Overgrazing (e.g., industry scale. i.e., the most common by far) farming of ruminants such as cows & sheep keeps vast areas of landscapes in severely degraded ecological condition (e.g., sheep stop regrowth). For more info watch this https://sustainability.masto.host/@empiricism/110855719942534540

@Inginsub @teknomunk @ceo_of_monoeye_dating I've tried for years & keep on trying to inform the public just how friggin corrupt, therefore dishonest & #greenwashing many industries & their online (puppet) trolls are The corrupt fossil fuel industry's own internal business memos prove that "For nearly three decades, many of the world's largest fossil fuel companies have knowingly worked to deceive the public about the realities & risks of climate change" https://www.ucsusa.org/resources/climate-deception-dossiers#climate

@sapphire @teknomunk @ceo_of_monoeye_dating @Saber FYI, I used to like playing guessing games when I was a child.I'm sorry that you enjoy hurting ("bullying") other people. Maybe you were bullied at school & that's why you don't want to talk about school. I'm writing "maybe" but that's simply a prime. It's more probable that you were the school bully, but, it's now not possible to know because I have established that you, at least sometimes, just make up stories.

@tinosoft @Leyonhjelm I haven't eaten meat in over 30 yearsGenerally, the sustainable approach is for communities to grow local foods whilst also sustaining their local ecological conditions. That means less eating meat & more eating a plant and fungi-based diet. Because grazing farm animals is one of the leading causes of ecological degradationA limited amount of farm animals can be grazed in ways that actually help the local ecology. But, that means a relatively low supply of meat

@tinosoft @Leyonhjelm I do eat beans, peas and lentils However, on a global level, many consumers are not even thinking about reducing their meat consumption. In fact, quite the opposite because meat consumption levels are rising. So, for the people that are not going to choose to reduce their meat consumption, it makes sense to promote (meat-tasting) plant-based burger that use "96% less land, 92% less water, and 91%less GHG emissions than animal beef" https://impossiblefoods.com/

#ClimateDiary This is the reason why l started to study the #science of #psychology Whilst studying for a #ConservationBiology degree at University, there were Doctors and Professors of Conservation biology, ecology, etc., who were lecturing students regarding #ClimateChange & species extinctions, & yet, as with many relatively rich people, had personal excuses why they eat meat, flew on Jets, enjoyed BBQs, campfires & generally thought nothing about filling up their fossil-fueled vehicles

The #greenwash, rinse, & repeat of business as usual causing #ClimateChange. Fixing the root causes of the problems in many contexts would lose industry money because their products are the problem.Industry makes a polluting product, advertisers sell it using hype, & consumers buy the product#Science, etc., details the problem, e.g.,  air pollution,  the industry & their political lobbyists, often in government, try to cover up the evidence & misinform consumersWash & repeat consumerism

#Biden does a #Sunak (rollback)Biden promised "no new drilling, period" as a presidential candidate, and the plan was announced six months after #climate advocates were incensed by the administration's approval of the Willow oil drilling project in Alaska. The new leases will be added to more than 9,000 drilling leases that have already been sold, and is "incompatible with reaching President Biden’s goal of cutting emissions by 50-52% by 2030," https://www.commondreams.org/news/biden-offshore-drilling-plan#ClimateChange
