@brouhaha Sounds like what we need is a git repo of the firefox profile that gets committed once a day. Then you could git bisect to figure out where the malware got in and exactly what it was.

@futurebird @whknott Long ago we decided not to use chemical pest control on our suburban property. Most of our neighbors do, but we have good fences. Now we've got a happy herd of fence lizards that love to eat the bugs. The only measures we take are occasional termite control and sticky traps for the crickets. No regrets.

@futurebird Small value packages imported from China are no longer allowed thru customs with no charge as they were prior to May 2025, so anything you buy from Aliexpress is likely to have a tariff due. On top of that Aliexpress is now not using USPS to deliver packages in many areas and instead is relying on a sketchy gig-worker outfit called Uniuni that is super unreliable.

@futurebird I've know of Discworld for decades but never tried them until we saw the TV miniseries for The Color of Magic - that was fun and I've been plowing through the books, enjoying them all so far. I love how he's constantly poking fun at modern things - society, tech, government, etc.
