@stefano car persons usually say that diesel engine and only short distance trips (such low kilometers for that many years) are not good for the engine of the car. I guess your story confirms that "wisdom"

I was reading the other day how culture in a company persists even if all the people eventually change.When I began working at my current $job I was specifically told that they are trying to change the engineering culture by bringing new people in after 90% of previous engineers went away. What I realize now after 1.5 years is that this goal is only imaginary because there is zero resources dedicated to that goal. You can't do that if you are expected to run on the feature request treadmill at a high pace.I'm curios what are others' experiences in that regard who saw more organizations on the inside.

@olav i have my car full of bags so there is always some at hand. After a while I bring some bags back from house to car so I never run out.

@mms I love my Sony RX100. It's so small that I always have it on me when I go on any kind of trip. It makes better photos than a smartphone and is just as convenient to carry

Trying out #Fastify for #Nodejs and I really like it. Having input validation built right in with json schema is really handy. That paired with a no nonsense DB plugin makes it possible to write a very thin and efficient logic layer atop SQL.

I bought a refurbished laptop to try out #guix on it. It didn't go well with occasional crashes and update fails. Guys on irc channel were very helpful and pointed out that I might have hw issues and not sw ones.I tried out memtest86 tool to diagnose RAM and it turned out that one of the memory sticks is faulty. Its unsettling to think about that the layer which you absolutely rely on is silently corrupting everything.

Goodbye emacs.ch. It was a pleasure being part of this instance. Not too quiet and not too loud but always interesting.It's sad that it had to end with realization that one cannot be too careful about what one shares online because there is always a chance that someone will go digging and try to construct something to tarnish you.
