       @ruud I read this yesterday. Assumed it wouldn’t affect me, then this morning (AEST) my server was down and I had to fight to bring it back. I assume it was this? Main issue is that elasticsearch won’t start without timing out. The whole server is slow, but that’s what was most noticeable.

       @lauren I don't fully agree with this, but I feel this response viscerally!Several people posted “Please take my blue check away, stop telling everyone I'm gullible” - all still using Twitter.But honestly, locking to new followers is probably the happy medium (I've done the same, with no plans to check-in again).It seems to me that current Twitter isn't a surprise, and yet it's still news, which maybe makes your point.But Mastodon, too, affects millions now and is far from a "toy ecosystem”.

       @edwardchampion @DrALJONES I totally agree. But why are people who are capable of critical thinking not doing it? Why are they so ready to jump to conclusions?Empathy says feeling trapped, wanting change. So perhaps we need to advocate for how that happens and show the iterative wins to provide a feeling of real progress. People don’t have the energy to climb another mountain. They’re exhausted. We need to campaign to outlaw foreign interference and reduce the noise.

       @Rasp very good. Deadname also clear, like a token, but doesn’t need to be known by anyone. It’s clear what’s going on to everyone. I think this is very clever.
