#February = recs on Black authors whose work I love How can there be so many wonderful writers of which I'm unaware? Suzan-Lori Parks won the Pulitzer for a play, and her love of voices is evident in her novel, Getting Mother's Body. It's endearing, charming, and all the good things. Her use of multiple POVs is deft, with each character expertly drawn using a minimum of words. Did I mention it's hilarious? #WritingCommunity: I need helpAn agent asked for pages. I've revised my first chapter thx to the (pretty negative) feedback from a contest. Do I send the opening that was attached to the query (which the same week was named a finalist in another contest)? Or do I send the revised pages? I think the answer is, if the query + 10 pages got you a request for more, don't mess that up. But I'm open to any thoughts.#AmQuerying #AmEditing #ShouldntBeDoingBoth
