St. Vincent de Paul Parish is one of the oldest churches in #Chicago. It's a religious parish, meaning it is run by men with vows of poverty, and its daily soup kitchen fills an important need in the community. For these reasons and many others, I've been saddened at how much it has struggled in the aftermath of the pandemic. A couple days ago, the church was broken into and almost $10,000 was stolen. I got flustered as I was leaving for work today and ended up accidentally wearing a tee shirt when I left. I am walking around the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago wearing something I got for free at a service trip in high school.
