@apps FYI "diddle" can have a bit of a not-great connotation. If it's pronounced "fuh-did-uhl" that might not sound great. See the last in the top list here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diddler

@xgranade @zkat I really feel like the venn diagram of pros shouldn't be that hard to have, and yet...So many weird "libertarian*" dudes, or "we're non-political**" stances, or "but we need it***" statements that just do not jive. *always white, which means "free to benefit from supremacy culture**this doesn't exist. ***this always means "we want it for free"

@foone A couple of things come to mind, and they're all fairly old as far as tech goes. First, is wireless headphones. I had a pair back in the late 90s/early 00s, and they had a base that broadcast, but it went throughout most of my house, so it was great. Hang em up and plug in the charger, boom. Secondly, and this is now related, is noise-cancelling for headphones. I got a set for the office a number of years back, and in a big city, it's really nice to drown out all that ambient sound. Since then, work has bought me several pairs of wireless NC headphones and I like them all for calls, travel, or tuning out the world when I'm on transit. Lastly, e-ink readers. I've got a paperwhite and it lasts for weeks on a charge, doesn't need internet, and saves me space on my bookshelves. I'd like a Kobo that can receive library ebooks, but I won't bother until the kindle dies.
