       @mms if you make sure that the created frame has a specific title you can advice `org-capture-finalize` etc. to close the current buffer when invoked in a frame with that name.That's how I solved that a few years ago.https://github.com/einsiedlerspiel/org-global-capture.el/blob/master/org-global-capture.el

       @tante large part of why i went with a SSG for my personal stuff now is the miserable experience i found writing directly in WP to be previously.
