       @PG_Kelly there’s a comic irony in the fact that I am enviously looking at this little cutie while doing so on a smaller, more powerful device that fits in my pocket. Sometimes I think my excitement for the beauty and utility of palmtops, netbooks, etc. is permanently stuck in 2002. I miss my Dell Mini 5 every day.

       @AlphaKiloPapa we don’t eat eggs with chicken embryos in them. We eat unfertilized eggs. It would never become a chicken whatsoever. Are they truly this bad at basic biology? Straw man wants his job back.

       I had no idea that the weird French chef who almost cooks Sebastian in the original “The Little Mermaid” was voiced and sung by René Auberjonois, aka Odo from Deep Space Nine. This is almost as interesting as learning that Lumiere, the candlestick from the original “Beauty and the Beast” was Jerry Orbach aka Det. Lennie Briscoe from Law & Order.        Unlike the Voight-Kampf, there is a "baseline", a pre-memorized text the replicant has been assigned to keep in mind during the test. The replicant's job during the test is to ignore the questions and instead listen for any words or phrases from the baseline text. The questioner says, "What's it like to hold the hand of someone you love? Interlinked". K must reply "Interlinked" and not respond in any other way. The point of the baseline test is not to fail inhumans. The culture has already decided that K is subhuman.        Today I learned that there’s a thing called #defederation and widespread lists of Mastodon servers that are blocked, and I'm on one. This may explain why so much content isn’t reaching me here. Seems a simple comment by @George promoting his reasonable views on life (which I share) qualify as some sort of outrageous hate speech as per https://cathode.church/@moderation/105605560196704033No wonder the #federation model isn’t being picked up mainstream. I left both Bluesky and Twitter for their obscene partisanship but where people go, this garbage comes too.
