       I’ve noticed that many Muslim critics of Bitcoin, especially maximalism, seem more upset with our grounding in Austrian economics than with Bitcoin itself. It’s odd really. Why treat it like a scandal that someone studies an economics discipline built on a priori axioms of human action?Is it really so offensive to assert something as basic as Hoppe’s formulation in Democracy:"Human action is an actor's purposeful pursuit of valued ends with scarce means. No one can purposefully not act. Every action is aimed at improving the actor's subjective well-being above what it otherwise would have been. A larger quantity of a good is valued more highly than a smaller quantity of the same good. Satisfaction earlier is preferred over satisfaction later. Production must precede consumption."I honestly don’t get it. Why would anyone be appalled by this framework for thinking about economics? It’s such a strange hill to die on for critics of Muslim Bitcoiners.

       I'm not so sure. On Nostr, you don't have Faglon's or Zukerfag's algorithm helping push influencer slop on the time line and literally funding them. You gotta work much harder than being an influencer here on Nostr if you wanna get paid. At least currently that's how it is.

       I think the algorithms affect perceptions quite a lot. Sure, people on legacy social media (LSM) get to choose who they follow, what they like + retweet, but ultimately it is the platform's algorithm that dictates overall boundary in which those actions take place.Interesting that you see the "echo chamber" or "CULT" as a bad thing as I'm finding that cyber cult formation is a lot harder to do on LSM like X. Not sure if you're still on LSM but many people complain that they suddenly find that X randomly unfollows people and deliberately doesn't show people that they prefer on the timeline (happens to me frequently). Like LSM deliberately makes it harder to form a tribe or "cyber cult" and prefers for people to just follow + interact with big name influencers. That's what I think nostr can address and fix. Good point on Nostr clients having covert censorship. This needs to be fought against before nostr just turns into another LSM app.

       Disagree. An algorithm, and a centralized platform pushing that algorithm specifically, is needed to sustain and push an agenda. An agenda doesn't just form randomly."Echo chambers" or cults are not bad things in themselves, it's when they're being pushed deliberately by the platform owners, often for nefarious reasons, that makes it problematic.
