       @dangillmor When did the technology platform become a political decision over a technology / features decision?  Ghost, Substack, Wordpress, aren’t they all blogging platforms with different feature sets? As a reader, I shouldn’t have to think about the tech platform, just the content, right?

       @wjmaggos @dangillmor ah okay that makes sense. I have only read a couple of articles on SS, never really looked into it as a platform, so the fact it has a “echo chamber” recommendation system, and it platforms extremists, means it’s making a statement to deliberately host there. Thanks for the insight.

       @hn50 I liked the suggestion of one of the HN commenters that the EU should impose tariffs on US digital services and use the proceeds to fund EU alternatives.
