@robert About 2.5GB of RAM if you count redis (Mastodon is the only thing on my server that uses it) and its postgres usage. Storage is still significant but not like it was before I wrote a script to cull the images. I don't really have that active of an instance, but it does federate with a good bit of places these days because I've been around a while.

@matt This is only if you live in a few select large cities. Otherwise, you can get it at best next day if there's a distribution center within UPS, FedEx, or the postal service's 1 day range. If not, you pay dearly for your impatience. In most cases it takes no longer than 3 days to ship across the continent -- with exceptions especially since covid.

@simon @jannem @newsorpigal I was around for that one. What "AI" will and is starting to do to the industry will be a much bigger sea change.Also to be honest I'm glad everyone's nephew/cousin/etc. with a pirated copy of Photoshop popped up to do wedding invitations because let me tell you they're a nightmare. Hahah.

@bigzaphod I just had a Maytag washing machine go out. It was 23 years old. It's survived 3 moves and a flood. I replaced it with another Maytag, but I'm not sure how long the new one will last. It has wifi. Not sure what for, but I don't care to find out hahah.

@davidrevoy I ran into the same problem with Wacom's tablets where the surface would wear down and become unusable. I went through two of them at an old job. I've been using an Intuos 4 XL at home for 14 years without any issues. I thought I'd try some new ones, but I wasn't about to buy an Intuos Pro. I got an XP-Pen Deco Pro XLW a few months ago. I'm worried it might wear down like the Intuos Pros did. Yours hasn't yet?

@davidrevoy Yeah exactly. This one doesn't feel like you're scratching into the tablet with a diamond like it does with Wacom at least, but I'm just wary. I've only just within the past couple of days really started using it a lot, so maybe I'll see if I've worn into it after a few months of use.
