@Andii @Radical_EgoCom it's an unacknowledged assumption that if you let the billionaires keep running everything, society collapses before you become an interstellar civilization.

@Benfell @Radical_EgoCom well, yes and no.Common perception of anarchy is that it means no social structure whatsoever. So whilst it's technically redundant,it's also a necessary qualifier to aid understanding.

@sneak @cloudguyThe fact that Google holds an intrusive amount of data on most people, isn't a good justification for giving them more!

@simon When they say that, they are effectively saying that they could do it, they've just decided not to. Even if you're happy to take them at their word, the unspoken part is that they could change their mind whenever they felt like it.They only have two duties, to make a profit for shareholders, and comply with the law. Without legal protection there should be no expectations for businesses to keep their word any longer than is convenient for them.

@ketmorco @hosford42 No way is LotR sci-fi, but I can see an argument for classing Dune as fantasy. It's premise is literally "magic boy is destined to save the world".

@Radical_EgoCom A transition state is necessary because you can't get everybody to agree on exactly how society should be organized, and the more radical the change the more people will resist it.I'm not sure what form a transition should take, but I believe it needs 30-40 years to bring enough of the population along without large numbers of them feeling oppressed.

@Radical_EgoCom @nlupo Exactly, you cant get everyone to agree with you but you need to make sure those that hate and fear you are an insignificant minority, otherwise it will devolve into violence. There is also the subject of foreign interference. Countries current economies rely on international trade, you take action that causes shockwaves in governments abroad you should expect interference both clandestine and overt.

@Radical_EgoCom What about political parties supported by co-ops, technically they support capitalism?

@Radical_EgoCom But do you consider a commercial co-operative to be a capitalist structure. Because I do, but also think they would be an ideal transition from publicly and privately traded companies, without them being taken over by the government.

@Radical_EgoCom There has to be a traditional state, even if there's not a transitional State. But the only other option I can think of that has a chance of surviving external efforts at corruption, is complete societal collapse world wide.
