@gabriel We think that people are genuinely scared to entertain notions and evidence of #conspiracy, even on fedi there appears a very pervasive set of #shadowBanning instances/hosts that seem to marginalise people drawing connections to military and bigTech.Or boot them off entirely.We don't know what happened to a lot of people on fedi over the years who were speaking up against genuine fascism, not #russophobia or #TDerangement that passes as it now.Privacy is important even on fedi.

Only after the instance shutdown a day early on 7 Oct 2023 did we learn that it was being hosted by a large #mastodon-centred operation called #mastoHost (domain is masto.host).We thought it was being operated by #activists the whole time, and that only the #contentDelivery was masto.host — nope.A lot makes sense **years** after the fact.#activism #cDNs #hosting #fediverseInstances #repression

At this stage wherever the shadowban came from, it represents a failure of fediverse, to protect activism and diverse, heterodox viewpoints.Fediverse needs P2P content delivery *urgently* and yesteryear.

There are many people on the server, to cater to.Our first post was to try and unblock @icedquinn@blob.cat, @realcaseyrollins@social.teci.world, and @jeffcliff. Because they are good faith actors.But two messages and no response.Again they have thousands of people to consider so we need to balance our efforts against that.

@fsf Hi FSF,By using #JShelter what does ones #browserFingerprint look like?Does it look like someone using #TorBrowser? Or #Brave?Without knowing this it becomes difficult to justify using JShelter. Because it would simply mean yet another sort of fingerprint/profile.

Scamazon and Cloud(G)lare work through them too. A few years ago Mozilla snubbed bitcoin donations. Their priorities are clear.Projects that seem to respect ppl and/or seem to need support/volunteers, include #I2P, #gNUSocial, FSF, #Parabola (gnulinux), #libreboot.at, ForgeFed, #OpenWRT, DeCloudflare.

@samuraikid One thing people in #Gaza probably need more than vaccines is food, water, basic medicines, medical supplies and #selfDetermination. They can probably live without an oppressor regime stealing land from them, murdering them and displacing them on a massive-scale by blasting bits of their home into them.
