While everyone is all angry at the RIAA, please don't forget to support the musicians whose work you're downloading

@mike @Gina tusky user reporting in, no problems here. Possibly related: physical location of fosstodon servers?

@codesections i think the kyria keyboard is designed with extra vertical stagger to address this issue

@kev people love to hate on the sequel trilogy but I think they're fine, don't let the hate spoil them for you. Also, even though I voted for release order, it would be hella cool to watch Rogue One right before Episode IV, so I definitely recommend that. Also don't forget Blue Harvest and Spaceballs!

@mike definitely. For me it's practising my instrument -- as soon as I sit down to it, the messages and emails start coming in.

New Firefox UI uses ~5 more vertical pixels than Chromium. I don't know how I'll ever adjust to this. It's a blight on my precious screen real estate. Mozilla has betrayed us all to Big Monitor.

@werwolf yep -- I had been using a really nice simple userchrome (https://www.reddit.com/r/FirefoxCSS/comments/i1nmlh/my_simplefox_theme/) and disabled it to see what the fuss was about. I think I'll leave it off, I like the new design.

I love the openstreetmap feature where you zoom in on an area of interest then search for a generic term like "cafe" and it decides, "no, you don't want to find a new cafe in your UK neighbourhood, you want this random location in the Philippines." So pragmatic!

@nicemicro lol I haven't checked in with the forums, but I also get annoyed by that kind of response. Much better to say something like, "I can see why you'd want that, but we're not implementing it because of XYZ" (as long as XYZ are reasonable). And to be fair, I'm sure it's not a simple rubric to determine whether a search is generic, or whether it should be geographically limited (it's also annoying to search for an address in Vancouver and have the map say it can't find it in London)
