New job is easy.Best part is the 5 minute walk to work.I also like the fact that I barely have to talk to anyone.Worst part is my start time is 5 AM, so I gotta get out of bed at 3:50 AM.

Right now my shifts are only 6 hours. At $15 per hour, that's $90 per day (before taxes and union dues).

It's taken me 269 days to get to section 3 of Duolingo's Japanese course.Started studying with the app on November 12th, 2023. Completed all 10 units of section 1 in just a few weeks. Then spent almost all of 2024 working my way through the 35 units in section 2.I haven't been this motivated about learning in a long time. Proud of myself.

Found a discarded vape on the ground.Took it home to see if I could extract the lithium battery.Took less than 30 seconds to pop the cap and pull the guts out, lol.I can't believe these things exist.So wasteful.But free battery, so yippie I guess.

My new watch arrived yesterday.It is a Casio G Shock GW-M5610U (module #3495).A wrist watch is such an underrated tool for people with attention issues. I've worn one pretty much daily for over 12 years now.Most watches I have used were between $10 and $20, but those always end up scratched and broken after two years. So I finally decided to invest in something more durable. MSRP for this watch is $150 on Casio's website but I bought it on sale for about $100 (USD).Gotta say, it's great!

Last week I condensed my sewing tools into a single Altoids tin. This is one of the more useful things I've done recently. There isn't a lot of room for thread, but I can fit a few tiny spindles of all-purpose thread inside.The kit isn't finished yet. I'm still waiting for my tailor's thimble to arrive in the mail. The thimble I'm using now is too small for my middle finger.Still, I've already repaired some hand towels and replaced a few buttons on my clothes. My winter jacket is next.
