Reading all the #introduction posts is a breath of fresh air. It reminds me that beyond all the political and pandemic insanity are incredible people with rich lives and interesting thoughts. This was way too easily obscured on the bird app.Thank you all for introducing yourselves. I like it better here already.

Another reason I left Twitter is because I think I became addicted. Not proud of this, but with the news cycle having us on constant alert, I understand it. So I've started using a pretty hardcore website blocker, and after a few days I am feeling much more like myself. I am finding this one helpful in case anyone else is in the same situation. @SDF Thank you. I saw a disturbing news feature on how they are built to encourage addiction - makes total sense. I am relieved to not see the same problems here - it's far more intentional and like the good old days of connecting online.
