@shadowfacts hi. really impressed with Tusker so far, but haven't managed to find how to jump to the top of the timeline using VoiceOver. is there something I'm missing? also, would love it if the Bookmark button could be added to the actions rotor on posts in the main timeline. Thanks and keep up the great work.

@shadowfacts thanks for another excellent update, especially excited about the VoiceOver and hashtag improvements. Maybe it's just me but I still can't figure out how to move right to the top of the timeline without having to scroll through everything. maybe there's a VoiceOver gesture I'm missing.

@shadowfacts huh, I'm not seeing it. there are buttons to switch between Home, Local and Federated, and to add filters, but I've tried swiping on all of them and none seem to have an actions rotor. maybe I need to change the app appearance or something? or turn on Hints?

@shadowfacts I just closed and re-opened the app and the Jump to Present option was right there when I swiped on Home. weird. I'm using a 2022 iPhone SE running iOS 16.1.2.

Continue to be really impressed with the development of #Tusker My new favorite feature is the ability to follow public timelines from instances other than your own. I love my little Wandering Shop but it's nice to visit other places too, like the Dragon's Cave or the Tweesecake Kitchen. So, what other instances should I check out?

Huzza! #DecRecs has returned!! A thread of my recs starts here, follow the hashtag for more and maybe add your own. I'm focusing primarily on books but some other media might sneak in too, so Happy Holidays and Happy Reading/Listening/Whatever.

#DecRecs Belated Day2: Idle Iktah is my latest addiction, an incremental game with a unique Pacific Northwest-inspired setting and more of an emphasis on crafting than combat, though there's some of that too. Gather, build, fish, smith, brew, cook, and rebuild a community recovering from ... something? Haven't gotten far enough to learn what yet. Oh, and the game's cross-platform and very #accessible for #Blind players. Here's the iOS version: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/idle-iktah/id1631764038

#DecRecs Day1: Activate the Device by @dazzlepansy The blurb calls this a romp and I can't think of a better word for it. An alien just trying to migrate finds themself pinballing around the galaxy from one misadventure to another alongside a charming thief, a terrifying crablike being who longs for the stage, and a cocktail waiter who just wants his tip. Funny, tropey in the best ways, a great way to chill and laugh after a long week. Why not give it a try? https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/65688945

#DecRecs Day4: The Remarkable Retirement of Edna Fisher by E.M. Anderson. Following on yesterday's tale of older ladies solving mysteries, here's an octogenarian who may or may not be The Chosen One. An adventure full of unlikely heroes, interdependence, found/restored family, and a "villain" whose motivations are all too sympathetic. Oh, and Edna has a flying carpet named Beatrice. Both are delightful. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/61175640

#DecRecs Day3: The Clockwork City by Shelley Adina. Finally free of her abusive husband, a wealthy widow travels to Venice for a painting holiday only to find herself embroiled in a murder mystery with bonus international espionage. Features wonderful older women finally coming into their own, clever kids, a hint of romance and since this is steampunk and Shelley Adina, airship shenanigans and chickens. An exciting new series in the Magnificent Devices world. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/88564272

#DecRecs Day6: today's all about T. Kingfisher, who just so happens to have a new book out today. Her Saint of Steel series stars a group of paladins seeking purpose after the sudden death of the god they serve. They find adventure and love along the way. Also there are gnoles and lawyer-priests, both of whom I love. All 4 books can be found at your retailr of choice, or as of mere weeks ago, on #Bookshare. Here's the latest, Paladin's Faith. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/201967303

@dazzlepansy I discovered this book and author via last month's #FediBookFair, which increased my TBR pile significantly. Go check out that hashtag too. And yes, it's coming back next year. #DecRecs

But wait, there's more. Thornhedge is a twist on Sleeping Beauty in which true beauty comes in the shape of a toad and something evil lurks behind that thorny hedge she's guarding. Kingfisher does fairy tale re-tellings really well. The Raven and the Reindeer remains my favorite but this was a lot of fun, and more sinister than expected. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/61884932 #DecRecs

Finally, there's Nettle & Bone, which somehow I didn't read till after it won the freakin Hugo! This is a tale of warmth, whimsy, desperation and vengeance. There's a princess becoming the hero she never thought she could be, a seemingly ineffectual fairy godmother embracing her true power, and a skeleton dog who's just the best good boy. Oh, and mustn't forget the demonic chicken. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/56179377 #DecRecs
