Spent a little time outside this evening with my old binoculars looking at the stars. I was barely able to get a glimpse of M13, and a few seconds later, a satellite passed through my field of view.

@kaosktrl I've seen the space station many times, along with the shuttle, and all kinds of satellites, including Iridium flares and tumbling Russian booster stages. Also saw a launch of a small rocket from the Florida panhandle long ago. Astronomy used to be a hobby I was pretty deep into.

@BowsacNoodle @AmpBenzScientist I think some part of why so many guys have poor fitting suits is because they don’t know how a suit *should* fit. They buy the wrong size when the right size is available. I’ve seen it any number of times. Personally I’ve had success finding off-the-rack suit that fit well.

@YeetLibs I’m in a similar boat. I’ve been applying and sending resumes to jobs for a couple of months now and I’ve gotten a single response. I interviewed for that and I’m waiting to see if they’ll include me in the second round. But otherwise, silence, and lots of emails from Indian names with dodgy jobs. Tons of those. There’s zero feedback and, like you, I have no idea if my applications are being read at all. If I’m being rejected, I’d like to know why so I can make adjustments to my training or certification or whatever these employers want so I can be a better candidate. It’s irritating to read about how all these employers in tech complain they can’t fill positions, and I’m someone with 30 years experience who can’t get a response.

@kaosktrl @robbiedv I've heard nothing but good things about Opus X. I'll check both of those out. I tend to like them a little shorter because I usually can't spend more than an hour with one.
