Having a fediverse message board reader (lemmyverse?) app on my phone now is a game-changer. I don't use reddit at all on my phone anymore. Two good android apps are:Boost for Lemmyhttps://www.apkmirror.com/apk/ruben-mayayo/boost-for-lemmy/Voyagerhttps://github.com/aeharding/voyager/releasesOne thing that is disappointing about fediverse 'message boards' is the apps are oriented towards logging into each message board rather than letting me post anywhere from my mastodon account. I will be looking into this further.

I came across this message-board for advertising new message-boards. There is a lot of variety in the 'long tail' of content. https://lemmy.world/c/newcommunities (it looks much better in a mobile reader app).

Its amazing to me how some things last. Clothes wear out and sunglasses get lost in a year, but I have some flipflops from my 2017 Thailand trip, and I can't remember not owning my clothes hamper, prob 20+ years.

I got sucked into Google One for the extra storage. Its just too powerful to have my photos online and searchable. I can self host the photos, but it also creates a single point of failure unless I back those up. What I cannot recreate is the search.

Finally some progress on loading a 3d model from the Ultima 9 data files. This model has 37 sub-meshes. Each piece such as the body or head, is a 'mesh' and each piece is translated and rotated into the correct position. Translation works, rotation does not (yet). this model happened to not need any rotation to look correct. #spider https://tangled.org/donpdonp.tngl.sh/u9map
