Horse is a picky eaterDown by Garrettstown Beach in Co Cork I spotted a horse in a field. He was by himself and I went over to say hi, and take his photo. He’s obviously had enough of people taking his photo, or maybe he ate something unpleasant, to judge by the look on his face. 🙂https://inphotos.org/2023/06/21/horse-is-a-picky-eater/#photo #photography #Ireland #Cork #Horse #Garrettstown

White Sand and DunesThe white sands of Maghera Beach in Donegal go on and on into the distance. Not many people visiting this beautiful day in 2017 when I was there.https://inphotos.org/2023/07/03/white-sand-and-dunes/#photo #photography #Donegal #MagheraBeach #beach

Lines on the wallA drain pipe comes down the wall, taking corners in strict lines, while the thin branches of a bush cling to the smooth surface. The branches look like they want to smother or envelop the wall, but the branches are bare. The wall is smooth. All dead.https://inphotos.org/2023/07/24/lines-on-the-wall/#photo #photography #Cork #Kinsale #blackandwhite #BlarneyPhotographyClub

The Ruins of Kilcrea FriaryKilcrea Friary in Co Cork as the sun set behind it. Despite the unusually wet summer, this particular evening was dry and warm and just about perfect for a sunset.https://inphotos.org/2023/08/04/the-ruins-of-kilcrea-friary/#Cork #Ireland #Photo #Photography #KilcreaFriary #BlarneyPhotographyClub #Sunset #sun

@textfiles Or you could create a font that was bigger by combining more characters together in rows and columns. I remember grabbing character definitions from C64 demos to see how they did it.

My chihuahua, Diego, saw a deer for the first time ever. He got such a fright he continued to bark his head off for a good five minutes. I got a very blurry shot of the deer.#killarney #MuckrossHouse #DogsOfMastodon #chihuahua

And TIL about the Apache 2.4 format for those rules. I have to admit, I still prefer "Deny from".

The Alibaba attack is particularly bad because it uses lots of different IPs, but they're all banned now.Edit: 16660 banned requests, but there were 96336 requests from the 47.X.X.X network today. That's just ridiculous.

This does explain why my cache directory is 181MB of compressed html pages. Despite having a cache TTL of only 30 minutes.I think this has been going on for much longer than I thought.

Bye Bye HoppyWe said goodbye to our dear cat, Hoppy today. She was 18 years old, and the last of her family that was brought into our lives by their mother many years ago.She was an adorable cat. She would accept rubs and loving ear scratches for as long as you'd do them.https://inphotos.org/2025/11/25/bye-bye-hoppy/#photo #photography #cat #catsofMastodon #Cork #Ireland #Blarney

She's been through many changes in our home, due to renovations and upgrades. When work men were about, she'd disappear into the ditch behind the house. There was further upheavel in her life when Diego appeared. I remember Mommy Cat and Hoppy hissed and arched their backs at this tiny puppy I had on a lead. Diego is excitable, but for the most part they got on ok. He accepted her and Mommy cat as part of the household.

She only ever tried to bite me once and that was a couple of weeks ago when she suffered a seizure outside my home office. I have learned since that you should keep your hands away from a cat when that happens as they're scared of what's happening. The last of her family: Mommy Cat, Patches Senior, Patches, Sooty and Hoppy. I can't believe we cared for 5 cats at one time. Apart from the mother, they all had the same gentle nature.

Just yesterday evening I went out in the back garden with Diego and Hoppy followed us out too. Diego just walked back in past her without a look. He's not so accepting of any other cat, unfortunately.

She went downhill a lot in the last year. It was a few months ago when I realised I hadn't heard her meow while she waited for me to feed her in the morning. She seemed to have lost her voice, but the vet had observed she was short of breath and gasping all the time. It didn't stop her purring, and that was lovely.

I don't think anyone besides my immediate family have ever rubbed Hoppy. She was wary of strangers and ran a mile when anyone called to the house. That's the thing with cats. Unless you're calling to someone's home you may not even know they have cats! When Hoppy's family first joined us we already had a dog, Oscar. They got on ok. She *loved* to rub up against him and sometimes slept on the same bed as him.
