@Linux I spent some 30 minutes trying and failing to compile it, just like a lot of other people according to the issues page on Github. There's a binary on the release page, but even that one won't run. I'll just wait for a proper release and stick with Wine for now.

@Linux while you're at it you may as well purge snapd and blacklist the package via apt

props to the @matrix team for making a software that doesn't break every time I update. It just works™ . I set it up once and never had any problem whatsoever

@Mirk0dex you can run the Android (x86) Minecraft bedrock on Linux just fine, but usually the latest version is not supported. It's a bit of an hack though, and besides the Java version is better. I bought it on Android and use it to play on my server (I installed the bedrock-to-java bridge)

@Mirk0dex oh man, didn't know you paid that price for it. I got my a free copy by clicking on a button on the java launcher a while ago and never played it

Just found out an experimental LineageOS build came out for my device. This is the first phone I've had in 3 years with stock android (MIUI to be precise, which is even worse), and even after heavy debloating it's still a nightmare. Thing is, there's no official TWRP yet, so I'd have to scout the internet for some random binary to flash to my device, which isn't ideal. For reference, the phone is a Xiaomi Mi11t Pro, here's the XDA forum post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-oss-12-1-lineageos-19-1-for-xiaomi-11t-pro-vili.4520579/

@R_freeculture I considered going for that route back when I bought it, but back then you needed tons of patches and workarounds to get everything working nicely. And IIRC there was no twrp build floating around so it was straight up impossible to flash it. I'll look into it, I hope something new came up. Thanks for the advice

@R_freeculture aaand one week later (had to wait because Xiaomi has you wait 7 days to unlock the boatloader) here I am on lineageOS. So far it's been working great

@R_freeculture vanilla. The only problem so far is having to figure out how to get android auto working and not being able to play Pokémon masters (it requires google play services just to function)
