Dear @signalapp,Bless your heart for your commitment to the bad decision of dropping SMS for Android. I've since found a huge struggle with the balance of communication with family members (don't care about conversation), services (medical, etc that won't ever support Signal) and now having to share all that info with a third party app that doesn't care about my security, and also doesn't guarantee the delivery of the messages (takes 10 seconds to 5 minutes to send while they apparently make a copy).Y'all used to work, and worked super well. If I can't get y'all working in concert with other solutions in the next week with some other SMS app (which is absolutely required for me to take care of family members), then you've lost this user forever. I'd rather be insecure and unencrypted and not say anything sensitive than be in this hell hole.Your obtuse obstinacy in this matter is creating new threat models and not solving any existing ones.I've said my peace.

I think I'm at that point where new computing and tech in general is no longer remotely enjoyable, exciting or fun. The more complex a system is, the higher the probability adtech has been woven into it. The stink of it is practically everywhere, and the only escape is not using or engaging with the products, which leaves you "out" or "uninformed." While I love and support the alternatives, in the decades I've seen privacy and security try and win out over adtech and surveillance, money always talks.I don't know where I'm going with this momentary rant. I'll just shout "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore" on UDP 53 for the next couple weeks.

One of the many philosophical misconceptions within Big Tech is that every problem is a software problem. The attitude that all of societal problems can be fixed with code is just so wack a doodle and disconnected from reality; I propose that these folks absolutely must work in job that requires them to experience the struggles that are affects of the human experience and condition. How do we combat online fraud? "More code" said no one who actually deals with criminal actors. How do we ensure State governments won't have access to health care data? "More code" wasn't ever the right solution, but less is... let's just not collect the data or build the database! How about we just *not* for a change?
