The news going around about the 80% fatality rate with this chimeric COVID out of BU is pretty exaggerated. The original wild type COVID had a 100% fatality rates in mice when tested under the same guidelines. Seems like this is some sensationalism from some media outlets. @kandescent there are a lot of free courses out there, especially on sites like edx.org. They offer courses from top universities all over the world that can be audited for free.

@GettingCooked LG makes some really solid washers and dryers. I worked for a major home improvement retailer and ran their appliance division. LG was our top brand. Only issue is their service network can be a little spotty in certain areas. Another brand to look at is Speed Queen. SQ is going to be pretty expensive but they are the best laundry brand sold in the US. Outstanding quality but very pricey. Speed Queen or LG would be my recommendation for a new laundry set though.

@GettingCooked if you have both options, I would prefer gas as it seems to heat more evenly. I have always felt like electric dryers do not do as good a job, but that is more anecdotal rather than having hard evidence.

@Djeep those are medals signifying service as staff at the department of defense or other high level offices. I can’t tell exactly which ones they are but that is what they are for.

@RoboftheVolcano have you seen them actually mention Paxlovid in the commercials? I have seen countless Pfizer commercials saying ask your doctors for antivirals to fight COVID, but the commercial never mentions Paxlovid. Whole nother level of corruption if they are mentioning the drug now.
