@fribbledom My physical collections have had to be shrunken and rebuilt over the years, so not nearly as impressive.I tend to buy digital for convenience/use and in addition physical for those special ones.I do still have a shelf for fallout :D

@fribbledom Volume. I do IT but currently for a manufacturing company, and was surprised by this too.The big two costs are initial tooling, and assembly line setup. If it costs $6k to prep the line, even if each board is $20, its cheaper by far to do one run of 10000 than 10 runs of 1000. Both are $200k for the same 10k of boards, but the later case adds an additional $54k to the total.

@tn5421 @fribbledom Yes, I am a huge WD fan myself, their red blue black and gold lines are excellent.For that box of 20, I happened to go with Seagate Exos Enterprise drives for the first time ever for me.Their performance is pretty comparable to WD golds from my benchmarks.They have only been spinning since Nov. 2019 though, so can't yet say for longevity.

@fribbledom Related story, I've only been "hacked" once, and it was my microwaves fault :PI was rebuilding firewall rules, had network monitors open, also sunrpc running.Went to heat some bagel bytes when someone exploited rpc and put an irc bot on my router.I had my netflow monitor live and logging so knew exactly what happened, how to fix, and what was changed.Had some fun taking over his bot and chan that night too.Without those logs it would have been a very different evening!

These days you don't have any more rights to that dvd copy than a digital download."I have the bits and they can't take them away" means, when they do revoke rights, you just accept using the bits in violation.I buy the digital download, and also accept it will be a violation when I inevitably need to pirate what I paid for :}I don't feel they are ethically different.

@fribbledom Out of curious, where do you see the hindering at?I'm on IPv6 as my primary stack, native, and (sit down for it...) I have a US ISP.My home traffic went over 50% IPv6 a couple years ago.
