If your #github project uses #stalebot you are being actively hostile to your community and should stop it.I'm looking at you, #esphome, and the 4 (at least!) identical bugs indicating problems with esp_touch that were all closed by stalebot. Some of them were reproduced and started discussion and debugging before being closed.Auto-closing is for #support requests, not #bug reports. Bugs don't magically disappear just because you ignore them.

@mirek You don't get hope from a 10 year old ticket. You get continuity, debugging, more information and validation. You may even get a fix.I'm not going to contribute time (or code, or docs, or debugging effort) when the gatekeepers use #stalebot as a recording to say "We're sorry, all representatives are busy with contributors that aren't you. Please go away.<click>"

@stux He looks like he is defending his home and people. Our rescue takes defending my partner to ridiculous lengths,. Fortunately, he treats me as a large but not so clever assistant for his job of "Guard Partner Against Evil And Especially From Dogs." I can usually grab him while he's busy threatening some massive but bemused animal. Or delivery person. Or (once) a snake. Partner has to hang back/retreat or he'll just shrug and do whatever it takes to protect her..

@leo That is the first step of "Embrace, Extend, Extinguish"We all thought that same thing when yahoo took over for private forums, and cheered while google divided up email to "save us" from spam, and (google again) thought it was absolutely amazing "do no evil" when they federated google talk with XMPP. (That one really stung. And it was *exactly* this situation: they connected their existing chat network to the existing largish federated one, and when they had enough of a user-base they defederated to destroy the open network. It worked. Gtalk people thought we just logged off..)They can get the data for free by simply spinning a 'fake' instance and subscribing like mad. They can't get the users unless they change the #fediverse to something it is not.

If you are stuck dealing with #CrunchyData or #Bitnami for modern #postgresql in #k8s, let me turn you on to cloudnative-pg.ioTL;DR: An operator and CRDs for managing #psql on #k8s that actually fulfills the promise of the operator pattern. It just, you know, *operates* the stupid thing for you. And its multi-arch.Amusingly, I found out about it because Crunchydata insists that ARM is super hard and reserved for enterprise customers only. (They've since made contrite noises about walking that back, but no actual movement yet.)I've been running it for about 15 minutes and so far I am blown away. And weirdly it does not appear to have tried to spy on me! That oversight aside, it comes with full #prometheus support, base alarms, and a VERY nice #grafana dashboard. Handles clustering, failover, scaling, upgrades, all the things.#postgresql #cloudnative #kubernetes #arm64 #homelab #turingpi

@vees If I felt that way, I would immediately change up my meds. It won't help if I really AM targeted, but at least I will be at peace until the inevitable 'other shoe' lands on me.Also, that is a good time to sweep the infra. Maybe you're targeted by someone less final-boss-fight and more wooden-sword-tutorial.
