@Persephone Just do it. I’m not gay but I’ve been asked out by dudes a couple times, it was actually kind of gratifying even if I didn’t accept. Unless somebody’s a total asshole if they’re not interested they’ll just say no with more or less grace.

One thing that really pisses me off about the typical prepper discourse is the “your preparedness is only for you, fuck everybody else” mentality. A) It’s fucking stupid, because even from a purely self-interested perspective, in an eco/economic/social collapse situation long-term survival will depend on cooperation with others. B) It’s fucking stupid, because sooner or later somebody will find out that you have a stash of supplies that you’re hoarding and rightly or wrongly will take them away.

My local electric coop is reporting a “dramatic” (their word) increase in meter tampering and electricity theft in the last month. Pretty sure most folks don’t try to bypass their meter just for fun, so I’ll take that as a sign of increasing economic precariousness.Meanwhile real estate median home sale values are soaring mostly as a result of more high-end home sales to urban refugees from California and Texas. I don’t see this trend ending well for anyone. Eat the rich.
