       Well, he's back, and seemingly none the worse for it. Not even wearing the Cone of Shame, as he doesn't seem bothered in the slightest.

       'Keep your pet calm and ensure they do not do any activities that may pull on the wound, eg. jumping up.' -- how?'[Pet may be] dull and listless up to 24hrs after surgery' -- he's bouncier than usual.

       @penguin42 I think that's the default IP stack for FreeRTOS, which the ESP8266 and ESP32 use as the reference OS.

       @penguin42 Yeah; not sure what happened to that. It's a very old keyboard and that mess has been on it for years...

       @penguin42 Type 6, actually :-) Coming up 20y, I think. The kitten managed to destroy the other one a few weeks back, hence the Logitech on the left.I should try and resurrect that, actually. Probably just needs a decent clean.

       @cawhitworth https://davidgerard.co.uk/blockchain/2023/11/18/pivot-to-ai-replacing-sam-altman-with-a-very-small-shell-script/ is worth a read.

       @mjg59 @starchturrets @leon_p_smith It's actually easy to work that out: it isn't secure.There *may* be a few edge cases where that is incorrect, but that'll be luck not design.

       @mjg59 @starchturrets @leon_p_smith And there's *still* a very good chance there's an unnecessary scanf("%s") in there that renders the whole thing moot.Yeah, I know, I'm a cynic. But I've been reading code lately.

       Bit of a random question this, but does anyone have any idea how long it will take to install a new roundabout into a busy dual carriageway?

       @sully That's sort of what I'm wondering. They claim they're going to start on site next Spring with completion in 2025, and I really don't want 18 months of weekend closures and whatnot; it's been bad enough with the M1J15A works.

       @penguin42 @sully That's pretty much what they did with the A5 roundabout, but that's only a single carriageway around here, and they still had weeks and weeks of full weekend closures.That and the A43 closures between the A5 and the other side of the M1 has made weekends around here rather difficult. Traffic has been satnavving through the villages, and the effects have been horrendous. Have a look at Streetview of Caldecote, for example -- now imagine an A5's worth of traffic on it...

       There are some things you expect to find sold in certain sizes, and butter is one of them. 250g. No questions. Except Lurpak apparently: 200g.Not doing *that* again.#unamused

       My local Waitrose as a combination of three things, which together are Quite Irritating: self-scan-as-you-shop ('QuickCheck'), a decent selection of rather nice gins with 'security' caps on them, and a lack of alarm on the door.I am a software engineer with an over-sized collection of defunct hard drives. And, I've just discovered, a Torx set.Just saying...

       @futurebird Other. Weird, flat phrasing is a dead giveaway, as is receiving far too many Americanisms from something purportedly British.
