@duane @nicole Watched five min of the video and I’m sold. Been using the Minimal theme for a year now, honestly never really thought to change theme at all (I have a fairly comprehensive custom.css that I’ve tweaked to hell and back). But definitely going to try this Annapurna or whatever it is soon as I get back to my PC later this evening. I NEED those color differentiations in the folder list. Thanks for the info!

@nicole @duane I'm actually messing with it right now. Really nice theme. Any idea how to change the color of the tooltips though?

@nicole @duane All sorted. Did up my own custom css tweak for it, looks good. FWIW:div.tooltip, div.mod-wide, div.mod-error { font-size: 11pt !important; font-weight: 600 !important; padding: 2px 5px; font-family: Arial; line-height: 1em; background-color: #AAFFAA; color: black; border: solid 2px #7EBD7E;}Also couldn't figure out how to change the default "divider" color for headings. Did that in custom css as well. You can probably tell I get a bit OCD with this stuff.. 😄

@markmcelroy @nicole Ditto LogSeq for me, actually. I've used it a bit and walked away from it because it just looked like a fancified day journal to me. But after reading, I think it was you that mentioned the idea of its "block-oriented" data not too long ago, I've put it on my list of things to do to revisit specifically for this concept since I still don't know whether that, versus the entire-page concept (or whatever the Obsidian paradigm is), would work better for me.

@nicole @markmcelroy So if I wanted an outliner I'd 100% use Dynalist, I absolutely love it. For me, Logseq just drops you in a "today's note". I haven't spent much time with it but that's all it does when you start it up - open a new "today" note like a diary. I get that there's a stack more that it can do, but I can't immediately see any need for that sort of functionality as part of my daily needs. With Obsidian I can make folders and files and templates so if I need to take meeting minutes, I go to that folder and make a new note and wham, it's a fully prepopulated meeting minutes template with headings for agenda, participants, action items, links and so on. For my weekly reports, boom, same deal. I love Templater for this. You can do daily notes in it (ie what Logseq does?) and kanban and tasks and literally everything I believe I need. But I still hear about this "block oriented" versus "page oriented" PKM structuring. I plan to look deeper.. one day..

Nnrgh. Obsidian nerds: Is there any way to get an image to show larger on hover or click-hold? I'm using for example ![[Pasted image 20230427093932.png|200]] - which shows the picture at an appropriate thumbnail size, but would like it to pop larger when I hover over it. I've just installed Mousewheel Image Zoom, which works to enlarge an image by holding down eg Shift and using the mousewheel, but it's literally permanently modifying the |200 part to lock in the size at the end and I don't want that. Trying @nicole 's snippet here (https://notes.nicolevanderhoeven.com/Zoom+in+on+images+in+Obsidian) but it doesn't appear to work.#obsidian #obsidianmd #pkm

@kopio @EpiphanicSynchronicity Neither work particularly well for tasks AFAIC. I use Trello with a custom workflow which allows me to get tasks in quick.

@EpiphanicSynchronicity @kopio The big problem for me is that I absolutely need something with push notifications/reminders when something comes due. Is there a plugin for Obsidian that does that? Without that functionality I have to remember to proactively return to look at whether something is due, or overdue, and for the hectic pace of crap I deal with every day it’s just mandatory.

@EpiphanicSynchronicity @kopio Hard pass. I got a workable solution already (after god knows how many years and possibly about thirty different task systems tested and walked away from - not exaggerating!)Obsidian’s task layout and this and that *looks* nice. Especially the aggregation page you can build with the Tasks plugin that sucks in and displays tasks from every checkboxed line in your entire vault. Just needs to ring-a-ding when something’s about to go code red. Would be an absolute killer feature IMO.

One of my friends on Farcebook posted this. Christ. Get a debit card but never use it. Genius. 👏👏👏---Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut have all gone down hill anyway and, now that they are saying they will not take cash, they will never earn my business. I think our society has lost site that you have to EARN customers business and doing things like this is an easy way to lose it. Any business that won't take cash from me will not get my support because I will not put my personal financial information (aka debit card) out there. It's been hacked way too many times already and is pathetic.
