@stux this was already pretty cool, and then I realised you could spin it around 😶.Way cool!

@stux genuinely very impressive, and I'm a web dev for a living!

@stux Three isn't something I've played with myself. You're a good advert for it though, if you're just getting started!

@stux very creative, but impractical for real production websites, sadly. Navigation needs to be simple and intuitive. Content needs to be accessible to all - those without Javascript, those who are blind, etc.Doing something fancy like this is fine for showing off your skills, but I wouldn't recommend for actual client sites.Imagine navigating a 3D Wikipedia with a virtual joystick controlled car 😆

If I had to pick one reason why #Linux is the perfect dev environment for me, it'd have to be the way FTP/SFTP is integrated into #KDE #PlasmaI can create a bookmark of SFTP servers and then just open all of those locations as tabs in the file browser, Dolphin, with a single click. Then copy paste a file to each space.Or I can open files from different servers as tabs in the same editor, KATE, and copy paste something between those files.I don't know how Windows devs cope without this 🤷‍♂️

@stux for anybody who hasn't already seen it, The Social Dilemma is an excellent documentary about this and how dangerous it is, and the people doing the explaining are all former developers of these sites.https://m.imdb.com/title/tt11464826/

@stfn HTML hasn't really changed in the last 20 years. HTML 5 is, basically, just XHTML with a simpler looking doctype and more input type variants. So, instead of declaring a doctype that references one of many DTDs, you now just use this:<!doctype html>And instead of the few basic input types for forms, we now have types like email and phone, which basically just determine which keyboard Android pops up on focus.https://www.w3schools.com/html/html_form_input_types.aspThat's about all you need to know 🤷‍♂️

@stfn you probably just want to read the WCAG + learn about CSS3 media queries.General rule of thumb - HTML is for content, CSS is for layout. So structure your HTML like you'd structure a book - paragraphs under titles, proper hierarchy of subtitles, and divs for blocking content out logically within a page. Avoid doing anything in your HTML that's purely aesthetical and make sure your images have appropriately descriptive alt texts, because if it isn't a content image, it shouldn't be a tag.

@stux this looks programmatically excellent, but I can feel your frustration scrolling through the building blocks there 😬

@stux and still gets better connectivity than I get in half of east Yorkshire, with an expensive 5G data plan and an S22 Ultra 🤷‍♂️

@stux we have whole generations now, of actual adults, who don't realise that "breaking news" was titled as such because it literally interrupted the thing you were watching. News that was so worthy of an unscheduled disruption that the broadcasters actually turned Eastenders off to bring it to your attention. We've gone to war, or a plane just hit the world trade centre. Now it seems to just mean take a break from scrolling to read about the fuel prices going up another 2p tomorrow. 🙄

@foone back in the 90s when I was just mentally deconstructing the games I played and learning to code by recreating bits of them, I saw transparency for the first time in, I think, the park advisor speech bubble things in Theme Park. I had no idea how they'd done it - alpha channels weren't a thing in anything I used back then, and just adding RGB values of 2 colours obviously gave weird results. So this is what I ended up doing - skipping even pixels of odd rows and odd pixels of even rows. 😁

@foone I had the Jaguar version, but looking at screenshots now, it didn't have transparent speech bubbles so I must be misremembering. It was definitely, 100%, bottom of the screen speech bubbles in something though, that I'd seen and wanted to replicate. As a programmer I only had a PC with QB, and MS Paint to play with, so transparency in any format was mind blowing to me!

@publiclewdness Solar2D, or Corona SDK as it was back in 2017, got me back into game dev after about 15 years absense. In 2020 while the project was transitioning to FOSS, we built (and still maintain) the https://www.solar2dplugins.com marketplace, and our designer did their logo. So while I'm not particularly active in that community any more, Solar2D is important to me and I can vouch for how great the people working on it are. Well worth your donation, thank you. 👍

@mike if you called the school to say you were running late 8 consecutive days, they'd have you in for disciplining!
