@edk I think that counting people is already a warning sign that something dehumanizing may be happening. I generally care more about who boosts or likes my toots, or follows me, than how many people do.

@edk I don't really know about any such ongoing conversations. It used to be breached a little on the Meatball and the Community Wiki, but they are both inactive now.Personally I think we should leave this to the humans. We have huge parts of our brains dedicated to managing human relationships and whole lives of experience doing it, I don't think any simplistic algorithm is going to do a better job. It doesn't scale, but I think that's a good thing. Keep it human scale.

@piggo believe it or not, but it was even shittier back then than it is today, I know it's hard to imagine

@piggo yes, it's great, you can just drag and drop things, make footprints and board outline in inkscape, and don't have to jump through hoops to have the pcb look exactly how you want, without having to use a user interface optimized for a light pen

@piggo it's still the cheapest electronic medium to produce at scale

@piggo I see it's made of lactic acid, not starch.

@piggo to be frank, I think that for businesses and institutions it would be best to host their own instances, and then verification is a simple matter of what instance the account is on

@brion why test your software before a release, when your users can test it after the release for free

@piggo you can also split the screen and have different files, or different parts of the same file in the split parts

@piggo it's the laziness of the compiler writers, not the architecture, though

@piggo @ignaloidas a pointer as an int is a fantasy anyways, the internal representation of a pointer in a C compiler has to be much more complex to account for all the undefined behavior
