@adiz @splitshockvirus The documentation is really very bad, but the process is quite simple after you read through a lot of pages (and yes, some in japanese).First create a masterkey so you can query their management API.https://www.meilisearch.com/docs/learn/security/master_api_keysAfter that all the work happens on the management API.Create an API key to set on the default.yml.https://www.meilisearch.com/docs/reference/api/keysCreate an index to put on the default.yml too.https://www.meilisearch.com/docs/reference/api/indexesif you're not exposing it to the internet I dont think you need to worry about sslAnd that's all.Restart your container just because.On misskey you have to activate the search usage on the role template.I can write a more step by step tutorial later if it helps, but that's the basis of the whole thing

@adiz nothing had to be on on docker, it just makes things easier, I used the examples based on the boilerplate misskey already gives, but the default.yml set up the host and port it will try to communicate with meilisearch so, just adjust I guess.the work on meilisearch will not change nor the configuration you'll need to do on the misskey yml files at the end, youll just maybe have to change more thingsevery user has a role on misskey, and the role template is the role every other role inherited from.to use the search feature you need to allow users to use it. its disabled by default.https://imgur.com/a/YX0HaP6@splitshockvirus

Ok, so after a long internal discussion I think it's decided. Soon we'll be moving from Mastodon to vanilla Misskey.I still need to plan the best approach and what can go wrong and what can go right, but it will eventually happen.We are accepting tips from everyone that already went through that. I'll try to migrate akiba.social to Misskey before paying another domain renovation and maybe even open it up, I'm just 3 years late on the schedule for that. :cheems_hmmm:

@adiz @antsu migration as moving from one to another, but will be a hard reset.I need to check the amount of problems may come from federation errors, maybe move everything to a sub like old.akiba.social wait for a while to give time to every instance get to know that and then reset the root in misskey... or just create a server on sns.akiba.social or something and phase out the main mastodon on root.But that's sad because I really wanted to keep it on the root.
