@futurebird yeah, the self organizing property of capitalism is super great, and is probably the only way to deal with such large systems. But, the current scoring function doesn't have any terms for personal happiness (non monetary stuff) or protection of our environment (long term survival, not poisoning the masses etc).Regulation can help that, but yeah... it's how success is defined that is the problem :/

@mttaggart mmmm.... I'd like to see more creative sources, like l systems, wave function collapse, Wang tiles with exotic rules, markov chains, etc!Less "we trained this on a bazillion things spending millions to do so and it might give an exact replica of work by an uncredited artist from the training data set".

My 10yo son said he noticed something odd about multiplication.If you have some number C, then (C+1)*(C-1) is 1 less than C*C.We started exploring and it worked with any C we tried.We tried +/-2 and it was 4 less. He said he thought it was going by the square.So we tried +/-3 and yep, it was 9 less.C doesn't have to be an integer either.It was a cool pattern he noticed and it was fun getting to explore math with him.He surprised me a bit with that kind of an insight.

The eternal struggle of using signed vs unsigned types:* This can never be negative so it should be unsigned.* That is exactly why it should be signed, so negative values can have special meaning, such as not being set.

@Urban_Hermit yeah. They want that freedom for themselves and cruel control of others. If republicans meant what they said, I, essentially an anarchist, could very well vote for one.
